Prepaid cellphones are very controversial. There has been
talk about them because terrorists have been able to use them without being
traced. I think they should still be allowed in the country because not
everyone is a terrorist and sometimes prepaid cellphones are the best option
for some people. If someone does not have a stable income and they salary is
different every month, this is a good way to have a cellphone so they don’t miss
a bill and suffer from late fees. It can destroy your credit and make a carrier
not want to work with you. It is also a good idea for parents who want to give
their child a cellphone that only they know the number too, without having to
pay a data fee that most carriers require now. I think it would be a good idea
to have a law stating that you need to present a form of identification while
buying a phone so that they know who has phones out there and what they are
possibly being used for.

Location Tracking
The risks of location tracking are that someone could get
ahold of the system, and find your loved one. We put a tracking system with
them to find them and bring them home; others might want to keep them for
themselves. I personally think that the benefits outweigh the risks. It is very
unlikely that someone can intercept the signals or control that is used to
track them. Pets and children are known to wander and this will make a parent
feel better about turning their back for a few seconds or walking their pet
without a leash. I personally think that parents do not have the right to put
chips in their children, or their teenage children. When would be the proper
age to ask for their consent? What if their parents abused the privellige and
never trusted their child. I think that once you are of the age of 18 you can
make that decision for yourself if you want the tracking device within you. If the
Congress passed a bill for children under the age of 5 to have chips, I wouldn’t
support it because children have been just fine without it. If a parent loses
their child that often that they need a chip, they should lose custody. There child
should be in same hands at all times, no need for a chip. However, I think it
is ok to put a chip into an old person with altimezers because you could get
their permission. Although the will forget you asked, you will still know how
they feel about it and if they want it. I think GPS shoes will be a wonderful
thing.

First Post
Living In A Networked World is a computer course that is very interesting to me because I love seeing how humans use and connect over the Internet. With so many programs and advancements, there is so much room for improvement over the web and within the human mind.
